We look forward to seeing you this summer.

UMPIRE SCHOOL 2017

Looking for part-time work that pays $20/hour?
Would you like to have a job that works around your personal schedule?
Become a NY Travel Baseball Umpire!
Upside:
• In 2 hours or less you will earn at least $35.
• In 3 months you can earn over $1000.
• You decide when you are available to work.
Downside:
• Your first year only includes a financial investment of up to $500
$200 for our umpire school which includes a training manual for you to keep.
JAKSA/RODER MANUAL
$150 or so in umpire equipment
$100 for uniform items (shirt, pants, cap)
The Umpire School runs for 2 hours for 7 Sunday mornings starting in
January at a Middle School Cafeteria in Park Slope.
On the 7th session we issue a final exam.
Your $200 fee includes an umpire training manual ($50 value).
Each of the 6 class sessions will include:
• 50 minutes review of the rules of baseball covered in the manual
• 1 hour of practical experience.
We have 6 instructors to work with approximately 20 students.
You will call balls and strikes, safe and out,
review proper positioning and learn how to manage the game.
$200 too steep? Payment plans are available.
For example: When you first enter the school you need only pay
the $50 for the training manual and a $25 deposit for the class.
Since we know you need to buy equipment, we can wait for the rest
until after you’ve earned it umpiring. And you will! We have
enough work for everyone.
Most of our umpiring takes place for the PROSPECT PARK BASEBALL ASSOCIATION.
However, we also cover all of the games for The
Kings Bay Baseball League, Rockaway Little League and for our
more advanced umpires, the NY Travel Baseball League.
After gaining experience, you will be able to
continue working in our Summer and Fall Leagues as well.
The 2017 Umpire School will take place at JHS 88 (Peter Rouget) 544-7th Ave (and 18th St) in Park Slope.
It will be on 7 Sunday mornings 10am – 12pm –
